The Mozilla Foundation has released version 2.0.0.8 of popular web browser Firefox. Upgrading to the new version is important, as it fixes as many as eight vulnerabilities.
Two holes are classed as critical. The first, 2007-29, has to do with memory corruption that could be exploited to run arbitrary code. Vulnerability 2007-35, in turn, can allow an attacker to run JavaScript with the same privileges as the user.
At least some of these vulnerabilities are also present in Mozilla Seamonkey and Thunderbird. In order to fix them, a new Seamonkey version 1.1.5 will soon be available on the Seamonkey site, and a new Thunderbird version 2.0.0.8 on the Thunderbird site.
