me, the top level domain for Montenegro, is currently in its national sunrise phase. This means that for now, only Montenegrin applications are allowed.
On 6 May 2008, however, the general sunrise period begins, allowing organizations to apply for domain names that match a trade mark registered to the applicant. This phase will continue until 20 May.
The “land rush” period will begin on 6 June, and continue until 26 June. In this phase, everyone can apply for a domain name. When several applicants are interested in the same name, an auction will take place.
Starting 17 July 2008, applications will be processed on a “first come, first served” basis.
Additionally, the me registry is holding back certain names of special value, such as contact.me and drive.me. They will be auctioned separately.
