Leading IT vendors form security body

Cisco, IBM, Intel, Juniper and Microsoft have created the Industry Consortium for Advancement of Security on the Internet, a non-profit organization intended to enhance global IT security by allowing vendors to work together to address security threats.

The consortium will provide a mechanism for international vendor and customer involvement, allow for a government-neutral way of resolving significant global, multi-product security incidents, and share the results of its work with the IT industry through papers and other media. The organization also invites global IT industry leaders to join as new members.
