UHF repeater OH2RUA now on air

The joint 70 cm amateur radio repeater of Kakkosten Kerho and the Radio Club of Elisa is now operational. The repeater’s transmit frequency is 434.750 MHz, and the offset is 1.6 MHz. The repeater may later migrate to a 2 MHz offset.

A 118.8 Hz subtone is used to open the repeater, although at least for the time being, a 1,750 Hz tone may also be necessary.

The repeater is located in the Elisa link tower in eastern Pasila, Helsinki, grid square KP20LE27. The transmit antenna is a dipole on the north side of the tower, approximately 80 m AGL. Receiving takes place using an 18 dBi omnidirectional antenna located at the head of the tower, some 100 m AGL.
