“Bad host” zone bhnc.njabl.org to be included in combined.njabl.org

Starting approximately 18 January 2010, the blacklist combined.njabl.org will also include the contents of bhnc.njabl.org.

The bhnc.njabl.org zone contains IP addresses that NJABL contributors have passively detected as not appearing to host legitimate SMTP servers. This determination arises out of unusual activity from SMTP clients on those addresses. Most likely, the IP addresses in question host spam proxies, although inclusion can also be due to defective and/or misconfigured SMTP software running on the listed address.

As anyone can remove entries from bhnc.njabl.org, its specificity should be quite good.

IP addresses listed on bhnc.njabl.org will resolve to 127.0.0.6. For more information, please refer to the documentation for the njabl.org blacklists.
