The RIPE NCC has launched the RIPE Data Repository, a 100-terabyte portal that hosts data sets useful for scientific and operational Internet research. The repository is intended to help researchers and operators share data as well as to catalyse research.
The repository currently includes the following data sets:
- WITS passive data sets. A mirror of the traffic trace data sets stored at the WITS archive that is maintained by the WAND research group in New Zealand.
- NLANR PMA data. Traffic trace data sets collected and stored by the former NLANR research group. This data goes back as far as 1993, a period for which little other trace data is left.
- RIS raw data set. A RIPE NCC project to collect and store BGP updates and RIB dumps.
- Reverse DNS delegations. Daily snapshots of the in-addr.arpa and ip6.arpa zones as published by the RIRs.
- IPv6 web statistics. Information on the fraction of IPv6 in hits and unique source IP addresses to www.ripe.net. This data is updated weekly and can be used to track IPv6 deployment.
Access to the data sets requires a RIPE Labs account.
